Launceston Company scoops the pool winning seven 2016 Tasmanian Theatre Awards
Encore Theatre Company were thrilled to have received 7 Tasmanian Theatre Awards (“The Errols”) for their 2015 productions of Mary Poppins and Evita.
Mary Poppins received 6 Awards in Community – Musical Theatre:
Best Production
Best Performance in a Leading Role (Female) – Abbey Hansson (Mary Poppins)
Best Performance in a Leading Role (Male) – Frank Kerr (Bert)
Best Direction – Danny Gibson
Best Choreography – Kelly Hortle
Best Technical – Marcello Lo Ricco (Sound Design)
Evita received 1 Award in Community – Musical Theatre:
Best Design – Darryl Rogers (Set Design)
Mary Poppins was also awarded the prestigious Event of the Year Award at the 2016 Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
