Combining the heavy workload associated with a thriving theatre company with his real profession (in branch and warehouse management of Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.) means life is rarely dull.

Jamie has directed 5 of Encore’s successful stage adaptations of popular television series, and has relished taking the helm, casting some of the very best actors the city has to offer and bringing these well-known and much-loved series to life in the Earl Arts Centre, with a particular highlight meeting and working with British actress Sue Hodge (who starred as Mimi in the TV Series ‘Allo ‘Allo).

Leroy Enniss

Leroy Enniss

Leigh has a long-standing love of theatre and music going back to his high school days where he enjoyed roles in Oliver! and My Fair Lady. In more recent times he has fronted his band Bootleg.

His love of singing led him to Encore in 2009, and he has enjoyed playing numerous character roles, taking you back to the 50’s in Buddy as The Big Bopper and Grease as rocker Johnny Casino, leading the brothers as Reuben in Joseph, to being able to make the ballet corps scatter with just one look and a deftly thrown lasso noose as Buquet in The Phantom of the Opera!

Offstage, Leroy handles many of the logistics with set transportation and storage, and on-site and in-theatre safety.

As a founding member, Wendy has been involved in Encore Theatre Company since it began in 2008, and has been involved both on and off stage for all of their productions.

Wendy has had many varied roles during her time with Encore, from being a founding member and working on the company governance in roles including Vice President and Public Officer, to being an Assistant Director (The Boy from Oz), and various backstage roles ranging from crew to set management to hair and make-up. She cites the role of Executive Producer (Fawlty Towers and Fawlty Towers 2) as one of her favourites; putting together of all department heads is a rewarding challenge, and to make sure the show has the best people for the job.
