Presented by Encore Theatre Company, the Tasmanian Premiere Season of BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL is coming to the Princess Theatre in March 2025!

BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL has been seen by almost 12 million people across five continents and collected over 80 awards in its lifetime and played for over 11 hugely successful years in London’s West End.

​Set in a northern town during the miners’ strike of 1984/5, the show follows Billy’s journey from boxing ring to ballet class where he discovers a passion for dance that unites his family, inspires his community and changes his life forever.

Expressions of Interest in attending an audition workshop for the roles of Billy Elliot and Michael Caffrey (both aged 9-12) are being taken now. Please register HERE

All other roles will be auditioned at a later date.

  1. Minimum age for auditionees at time of show: Age 9+

  3. Encore will contact you with details. Please allow 24-48 hours to hear from us
  4. ALL known commitments which may conflict with scheduled rehearsals or performances are clearly indicated on the expression of Interest Form. This specifically includes your intention to rehearse and/or perform in ANY OTHER theatrical productions during the production period (October 2024 – March 2025)
