Guest starring Jon English as Pilate
16-24 March 2012 Princess Theatre
Almost 40 years ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote the greatest rock musical the world has ever known. Jesus Christ Superstar.
When the show premiered in Australia at the Capitol Theatre Sydney in May 1972, Harry M Miller and Jim Sharman chose an unknown rock singer for the role of Judas and launched the career of one of Australia’s most successful performers.
Guest starring in the role of Pilate for a strictly limited season at the Princess Theatre, Jon English has at last returned to the show that made him a Superstar.
This production also raised $10,000 for the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program Appeal, for which Jon is Ambassador.
